EBF Board of Trustees Approve Enhancements to Retiree Dental Program

Employee Benefit Fund (EBF) Board of Trustees Chairman Danny Donohue announced a number of enhancements to the EBF’s Retiree Dental Plan that will take effect January 1, 2017. The enhancements were approved at the Board's October 25, 2016 meeting.

The Retiree Dental program has an annual plan cap of $1800 and the EBF’s participating provider network accepts our fee schedule as payment in full for all covered services.

At its October meeting, the EBF Board approved enhancements to provide for 3 exams and 3 cleanings annually for participants and their covered dependents effective January 1, 2017.  In addition to these improvements, the Board authorized enhancements to the panoramic x-ray, prophy exams, fillings and crown benefits, as well as scaling & root planning and certain periodontal procedures.

Chairman Danny Donohue said: "We are pleased to be able to offer these enhancements. Our CSEA retirees deserve quality benefits and we will do all that we can to make these important benefits available at the most affordable pricing possible."

The EBF has offered a retiree dental plan for New York State & local government public retirees since 2002.

All NYS retirees are eligible if they opt for the benefit within 90 days of retiring.

Local government employees are eligible if they have EBF plan coverage at the time of retirement AND have a signed Memorandum of Understanding between the employer and CSEA authorizing the retiree coverage.  The EBF currently has more than 330 local governments covered by a retiree dental plan.
