EBF Announces New Service for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired

On November 6, 2017, the CSEA Employee Benefit Fund (EBF) will launch a new, state-of-the-art service for deaf and hearing impaired plan participants.

The EBF has been working to implement the new service for many months and is pleased to be able to launch the new Sorenson Video Phone service for the EBF's deaf and hearing impaired members and dependents.

Those needing the service can access the Sorenson line by calling 518-213-4657. The system will be staffed on weekdays from 8:30 to 4:30.

CSEA President and EBF Board of Trustees Chairman Danny Donohue said: "The EBF is always working to take advantage of technology to better serve our membership, this new system is just one way of helping our deaf and hearing impaired participants get easier access to their EBF benefits."

EBF Director Bill Howard said: "This new system came as a result of a suggestion from one of the EBF's employees who works with the hearing impaired. There is no better example of demonstrating how much EBF staff cares about our members than the development of this new system."
